Feeling and Looking Awake

Starting a new year always is a busy time, but normally results in us getting less sleep. I’m always guilty for this and results in me looking more on the ‘I’ve just woken up and I’m knackered’ look. Ive been finding ways to solve this in both hiding it and feeling it.

Alarms
Finding a way to wake you up in the morning is hard whether that’s setting your alarm once and you need to get up straight away or even every five minutes. Everyone has there personal way which works for them but i have found that say if i need to be up at 7 am i will put my alarm for 6:30 am and slowly wake up within that half an hour. This took a bit of training but it now works and by 7am i am wide awake.

Cleansing 
I know the struggle of keeping to a regular skincare routine, but i like to keep my morning one to a minimum. I literally just use a cleanser and a moisturiser as this keeps a skincare routine but the luke warm water wakes you up.


Water 
Drinking water instead of coffee wakes you so much more. This is because coffee is there to give you that energy boost for a little while then leaves you more tired afterwards. (Watch out for a new post about why i am cutting down on coffee soon) As well as this water helps to keep your skin clear too!


Highlighter
I wish i knew about this sooner as since i found out that highlighter can make you look more awake than you already are has been amazing! If you use a highlighter or a cream/ white eye shadow on the top of your cheek bones, brow bone and in the inner corners of your eyes it can give the illusion that you are wide awake when underneath your probably not!



Fitness
It’s good to feel awake on the inside so i try to fit in a 30-60 minute workout on a monday morning, your probably thinking i can’t do a workout on a monday morning thats crazy, but think of it as once you have completed it you’ve done it for the rest of the week and your going to feel so much more awake from it. I have been taking up Zumba and Boxercise from home using dvds and youtube video workouts!
