My skin has recently been so dull and lifeless with textured skin from eating too much chocolate and late nights so I only have myself to blame. I was invited to John Lewis in Exeter for a facial with Liz Earle and I was so happy it came at this time because the week before I had a cold which always drains the life out of my skin so my face was screaming for hydration.
John Lewis in Exeter has recently installed a new beauty room, redecorating the hallways up to the top floor to the beauty room. There are a few beauty counters which share this space and it was so beautifully designed and decorated to make a warm, calming space for some me-time.
I love the beach theme throughout the whole room with the wallpaper and the John Lewis accessories, the cabinet is actually called ‘St Ives’ which I thought was very fitting!
I had a lovely skincare routine chosen for my facial by Gayle. She was incredible and made my whole experience very relaxing. She started by wrapping a blanket around me so I could be warm and cosy.
She started by taking off my foundation with my favourite product by Liz Earle, the cleanse and polish comes with a gentle exfoliating muslin cloth and the cleanser gently takes off any makeup all in one, then followed by the Lavender & Vetiver version which smells incredible!
Gayle then applied the new Balancing Gel mask along with eye bright on cotton pads to my eyes to let it sink in. She then did an amazing hand and arm massage with their new Cleanse and Polish Body which I had eyed up at Christmas time but now I have tried it I have to buy it there and then because it comes with a scrub pad which exfoliates the skin without pulling or scratching. My arms were so bright and smoother afterwards and still are a few days later which I can imagine if I do this twice a week all over my body it could look more glowing and less textured by the summer, as I’m hoping it will be a nice version of dry brushing which I always finds leaves my skin red, so hoping the body cleanser will improve the overall condition of my skin better. We finished with a moisturizer and eye cream which was beautifully massaged into my skin for a few minutes which was a lovely end to the facial.
I felt so relaxed and zen after my treatment, my skin was glowing and continued to for several days after. This was a lovely treat to have booked in the diary compared to a quick tester of a product at the counter as sometimes when you know you’ll have a bit more time it’s lovely to have a pamper, and it’s lovely to treat yourself afterward with the £25 redeemable facial fee on the products so your facial works out to be free!
My top three products include:
Liz Earle Hair Oil – I have been using this for years and I always see a massive transformation when I scrunch this into my hair in the mornings when it’s looking and feeling a bit lifeless. I always recommend this to everyone! Straight, curly, thick or thin hair this is a product which works!
Lavender & Vetiver Cleanse and Polish – if you have known or followed me for a while you’ll know I have been raving about this cleanser for years! It’s such a gentle cleanser which I can use when I’m in a hurry or if I want to spend more time massaging the product in. It glides off my makeup with ease it’s beautiful!
Cleanse and Polish Body – I have been using this a couple times since my facial and I can already see a difference to my skin as this has helped with the texture on my legs, whilst also moving the blood etc around in my skin giving it a boost of life and brightness.
Have you tried any products from Liz Earle and are you going to book yourself in for a facial? Let me know!
I recommend going to Exeter John Lewis, they are so lovely and can’t do enough for you and ensure you have an amazing experience with Like Earle!
