It’s always hard to find a community when you live in smaller cities. I live in Exeter, a beautiful city that is slowly getting bigger and better. There seems to be a stigma around housing estates, even more, cafes than before and shops squeezing into every space available but this is all amazing opportunities to meet new people.
I was lucky enough to attend the #EFBW Blogger and Social event ran by InExeter and Style Petal, a chance to meet all those faces I see online every day, the ones I talk to, the ones I feel I know everything about without even meeting them. The online world is incredible. We were greeted by InExeter and StylePetal who are all so lovely.
Whilst we went round to each beauty brand around the room, we enjoyed a few drinks by GoodFellows and cute plates of tasters from Bills in Exeter, I must say the brownie with clotted cream and flake was a favourite of mine.
Being treated to lipstick touch-ups, foundation matching and a lot of sampling which I have been loving each day after trying something new was really good because I try many products each month that when I get to try something new I do find some great finds!
After some socialising, StylePetal went to the stage to start the evening with a photography workshop. It was really interesting to see everyone getting stuck into a big conversation chucking ideas and tips into the mix, whilst growing together, taking ideas and putting them into practice afterward. Primrose shared many of her behind the scenes of the photos she takes for Instagram which made me chuckle as some involved taping a duvet to the wall etc.
Afterward, some more time getting to know the brands, fellow bloggers and of course trying more food and drinks was followed by a beautiful, inspiring panel with StylePetal, DressaholicStyle, Phoebe.Styling and WowSancho. It was lovely to hear their stories of how they’ve grown within the social community, along with some inspiring hacks to help one another grow. I’ve never heard such an inspiring session than I did that evening!
I walked away probably the most inspired I have ever been. It was so lovely to share ideas, meet others and come away with a few goodies! The event itself was so beautiful, with flower walls, photoshoot area and cute little gestures like mini lanterns and table cloths. I just couldn’t wait to show you some photos of this event so I hope you’ve enjoyed seeing what I get up to at these beautiful events I get to go to.
